Lords and ladies who are vital to the quest can be captured by opposing factions or even bandits. In these situations it is best to move on and find the next lord. Each faction has 2 or more lords who can be talked to, in-order to progress the quest, but you only need to talk to 10 lords in total to finish the quest!
